I’ve had many moments when I’ve felt so weak that my remaining time on earth feels like a mission impossible. In my body’s weakness, it’s given many extra hours for prayer and time in God’s Word.
It’s created time to ask our “mighty to save” LORD (Is. 63:1) to save many, joining my sisters in Christ who are in agony for loved ones who do not know Jesus Christ.
God keeps reminding me of what Jesus tells us in this sad and scary situation.

Merciful Lord, help me remember the “mission impossible” of Your saving me!
Knowing that you were ransomed from
the futile ways inherited from your forefathers,
not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot (1 Pet. 1:18-19 ESV).
Now I have found the ground wherein
My anchor, hope, shall firm remain,
The wounds of Jesus, for my sin
Before the world’s foundation slain…
(“Redemption Found,” Rothe, J. A., p.d.)
He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who
through him
are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God (1 Pet. 1:20-21 ESV).
Whose mercy shall unshaken stay,
When heaven and earth are fled away.
Lord, help me to cling to Your “all things are possible” truth when I fear for those unsaved
Jesus, I know, has died for me;
Here is my hope, my joy, my rest…

Hither, when hell assails, I flee;
I look into my Saviour’s breast.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses,
made us alive
together with Christ—by grace you have been saved (Eph. 2:4-5 ESV).
Away, sad doubt and anxious fear;
Mercy and love are written there.
Lord Jesus, re-focus my thoughts on Your ongoing gift of redeeming mercy and steadfast love, redemption found!

Though waves and storms go o’er my head,
Though strength, and health, and friends be gone,
Though joys be withered all and dead,
And every comfort be withdrawn…
O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption (Ps. 130:7 ESV).
Steadfast on this my soul relies,
Redeeming mercy never dies.
For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace
as a gift,
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:23-24 ESV, emphasis added).
Power-full Lord, fix my gaze on Your “redemption found” love rather than what feels like a mission impossible
Fixed on this ground will I remain,
Though my heart fail and flesh decay…

This anchor shall my soul sustain,
When earth’s foundations melt away…
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:17-19 ESV).
Mercy’s full power I then shall prove,
Loved with an everlasting love.
It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord (Lam. 3:26 ESV).
Lord, help me to point to and show those unsaved…Your abiding love in Christ, redemption found!
Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you (Jer. 32:17 ESV)…

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen (Eph. 3:20-21 ESV).
