As always, this week’s “praise interruption” interrupts our suffering with loads of Scripture, with God’s Word of truth. I agonized on a recent morning when I couldn’t see a way to manage my new treatment plan, even while grateful for having one now. So graciously, the Lord again came near as He reminded me that I only see in my limited human view. He showered me with Scriptural encouragement, which I now share with you.

I’m suffering…but God! This is what is true!

“All the way, my Savior leads me!”

And He leads you today too, beloved.

Today may feel impossible…but God!

Let’s praise Him together, into our suffering.

I’m hurting today, but God is always the same

But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness (Ps. 86:15 ESV).

But the LORD of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness (Is. 5:16 ESV).

But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone (Heb. 2:9 ESV).

All the way my Savior leads me –
O the fullness of his love!

(“All the Way My Savior Leads Me,” Crosby, F., 1875)

I’m needy today, but God loves me

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8 ESV).

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ–by grace you have been saved (Eph. 2:4-5 ESV).

As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God! (Ps. 40:17 ESV)

Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
here by faith in him to dwell…

I don’t see how I’m going to make it today, but God!

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever (Ps. 73:26 ESV).

But the Lord GOD helps me…therefore I have set my face like a flint (Is. 50:7 ESV).

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6 ESV).

But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint (Is. 40:31 ESV).

All the way my Savior leads me,
cheers each winding path I tread,
gives me grace for every trial,
feeds me with the living bread.

I’m afraid of what could happen tomorrow, but God!

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (Jn. 1:12 ESV).

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it (1 Cor. 10:13 ESV).

But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea (Ex. 13:18 ESV).

All the way my Savior leads me;
what have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt his tender mercy,
who through life has been my guide?

for I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;

for I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

I’m exhausted, but God, You will lead me…all the way home

He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake (Ps. 23:3).

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever (Ps. 23:6).

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us (2 Cor. 4:7 ESV).

What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined what God has prepared for those who love him (1 Cor. 2:9 ESV).

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him (James 1:12 ESV).

Perfect rest to me is promised
in my Father’s house above:
when my spirit, clothed, immortal,
wings its flight to realms of day.

I have no song, but You are the source of my song. Please give me a song today.

Though my weary steps may falter,
and my soul a-thirst may be,
gushing from the rock before me,
lo, a spring of joy I see.

But I am afflicted and in pain; let your salvation, O God, set me on high! (Ps. 69:29 ESV)

But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, “You are my God” (Ps. 31:14 ESV).

But the LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge (Ps. 94:22 ESV).

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever (Ps. 52:8 ESV).

But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me (Micah 7:7 ESV).

But I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob (Ps. 75:9 ESV).

This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way;
this my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way!
