Abba Father,

If I’m honest, I’m crying to You along with Job. This suffering feels Job-like.

And yet, as I suffer today, I remember that You gave me eternal life, life that is in Your Son, Jesus Christ. You gave me to Jesus.

I have the Son of God, so I have this life already (1 Jn. 5:11-12)! Knowing You, “the only true God and Jesus Christ” is eternal life (Jn. 17:3 ESV)! It’s all Your gift, Your amazing grace that I am saved, through the very faith You gave me (Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8). Thank You, Father.

For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him (Jn. 17:2 BSB).

By God’s amazing grace, ongoing as I suffer

So, help me cling to Your ongoing grace in today’s mess. To trust in Your grace. Give me grace to walk through today as one whom You’ve already given Your “free gift” of eternal life.

Grace, like a fountain, ever flows,
Fresh succours to renew;
The Lord my wants and weakness knows,
My sins and sorrows too.
(“Trust in God’s Grace,” Greene, T., p. d.)

I’m singing these lyrics to the tune of “Amazing Grace” today. By Your ongoing grace as I suffer, protect me from sinning today as one who “was born of God. The evil one” cannot touch me, for I am in Christ (1 Jn. 5:18 ESV)!

By God’s amazing grace, to the very end

Jesus promises Your amazing grace will endure to the very end, the day I will live with You in my true home. And, You promise that Jesus “shall lose nothing of all” You have given to Him (Jn. 6:39 ESV). Jesus also promises…

“All that the Father gives to me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”9

That’s me!

How can these blessings be all mine, as I suffer?

How can this be? Because Jesus is praying for me as one of those You’ve given to Him, those who are Yours.

"I ask on their behalf. I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those You have given Me; for they are Yours” (Jn. 17:9 BSB).

Because Jesus always does Your will and it’s Your will to raise me up “on the last day,” Abba Father! It’s Your will that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him “should have eternal life” (Jn. 6:39-40 ESV)!

In the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in Whom I have all of these blessings, such amazing grace as I suffer, amen.

By God’s amazing grace, to be trusting in His grace as we suffer

Sister in Christ, I wrote this new prayer book because He has comforted my heart to see…this whole suffering journey is God’s grace to us. His blessing us to help us trust Him no matter what. His continual grace to comfort and sustain our trust in Him, from His gracious start to the very end. His gracious blessing within this suffering, His sanctifying gift to lead us home to Jesus in our longing. Beloved, this is His gift…of trusting faith in Christ. It’s ALL by God’s amazing grace to us!

I’m singing of His ongoing, amazing grace this week, one of much stress and suffering, loss and sorrow. And yet? It’s singing, “Blessings all mine” at the same time! Would you like my weekly playlist gifts of songs He’s given me to help keep me going? Sign up below, I’ll send it to your email with love and prayers that He blesses you as well!
