Are you feeling beaten down by the evil of this fallen world? Are you weary of its suffering, a result of pervasive sin? Sister in Christ, I’ve been engulfed there lately.

But Jesus is risen!

Things are not as they seem to us.

Our Lord has graciously reminded me of His authoritative power over Satan, evil, sin, and death, through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, our beloved Savior. He is Lord over all!

And, by His victory at the cross, we who trust in Him for salvation already have victory over sin as we suffer, because we live united victoriously with our alive King Jesus now and forever.

Let’s interrupt our earthly suffering, along with a sister in Christ who wrote songs to Him with eyes that were blind. Let’s re-see our risen Lord with her words and God’s Word this week. Like her, no matter our earthly suffering, we who belong to Jesus have victory at the cross of Christ!

Hail Jesus Christ!

Praise him! Praise him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O earth, his wonderful love proclaim!
Hail him! Hail him! Highest archangels in glory;
strength and honor give to his holy name!

(“Praise Him! Praise Him!” by Fanny F. Crosby, 1869)

All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (Jn. 1:5 ESV).

Victory of our risen Jesus Christ!

“He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise” (Lk. 24:6-7 ESV).

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls (1 Pet. 1:8-9 ESV).

Praise him! Praise him!
tell of his excellent greatness;
praise him! Praise Him!
ever in joyful song!

Victory at the cross of Christ!

Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Rom. 7:24-25 ESV).

Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 Jn. 4:10 CSB).

Praise him! Praise him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
For our sins he suffered and bled and died;
he our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation.

Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began (1 Tim. 1:9 ESV).

This has now been made evident through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who has abolished death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (1 Tim. 1:10 CSB).

Hail him! Hail him! Jesus the Crucified.
Sound his praises! Jesus who bore our sorrows,
love unbounded, wonderful, deep, and strong!

Praise Him! Praise Him! hymn lyrics

Victory at the cross of Christ over my sin

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life (Mt. 25:46 ESV).
Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life (Rom. 5:9-10 ESV).

Praise him! Praise him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring!

He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. In him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Col. 1:13-14 ESV).

Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever;
crown him! Crown him! Prophet and Priest and King!

Victory as Jesus carries me to the last day!

Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard his children,
in his arms he carries them all day long.

Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? (Jn. 14:1-2 ESV).

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:16-17 ESV).

Christ is coming! Over the world victorious,
power and glory unto the Lord belong!

A playlist to praise Jesus Christ for His victory at the cross

Beloved in Christ, we already have “Victory in Jesus” as we walk through earth’s tribulations. He’s freed us from the power of sin and its resulting death. Jesus came to earth to live a victoriously sinless life, to die a victorious and completely propitiating atonement for our sin, and He is risen in victory over all!

Jesus is coming back to judge sin and He will finally destroy the enemy. All sin and evil and suffering will be gone! And we who are His will hail Him forever.

So, as sin and evil escalate, let’s praise Jesus Christ now. Oh, my heart needs to as I suffer.

As our enemy (His enemy) tempts us to turn away from Jesus, let’s instead turn to Jesus who has all power and authority. Let’s tell Jesus about every pain and sorrow and ask Him to help us stand firm in trusting Him as He carries us home. Do you see? This is all His work of victory over the remnants of our sin nature, as we suffer. Praise Him! Praise Him!

So, this week’s playlist gift exalts our risen, strong, and all-powerful Lord and Savior. It’s helped me remember what He did for me on the cross, praising our glorious and reigning Lamb of God for His victory. He’s empowered my heart with confidence and strength to endure earthly tribulation through our victory at the cross of Christ. Hallelujah!

If this (or any of the other resources below) would bless you too, I pray they will be God’s gift to you.

Thank you very much for this wonderful blog about the resurrection of Jesus! It reminds me that our faith is not based on what we see, but on what we do not see. As 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “We do not focus on the things that are seen, but on the things that are unseen, for the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” Once again, thank you for these inspiring words and may God continue to bless you.

    God bless you too, Aritha! Thank you for that beautiful Scripture! God has also been encouraging me with the verse just before it! “For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.” So as we focus there and praise Him for this sure hope we have in Jesus Christ, we can endure. All hail to our risen King!! Thank you, dear sister in Christ. 🙏🏼❤️✝️🙌🏼
