O the power of love divine!
Who its heights and depths can tell –
Tell Jehovah’s grand design,
To redeem our souls from hell?
(“I am His and He is Mine,” Robinson, W., 1890)
What’s your redemption story? His gift of redemption or justification happened for me when I was 15, almost 45 years ago! I remember singing with all the other teens, through tears of repentant cleansing of all my sin and overwhelming joy in my Father’s drawing me to Jesus by His Spirit, such redeeming love:
He’s my Savior, He’s my Savior! Alleluia!
You want to pass it on!
But recently? Even more deeply experiencing the overwhelming power, heights, and depths of my heavenly Father’s love for me in Christ?
This round of suffering has been His gift of grace to produce this. It’s utterly supernatural, all Him. The veil between heaven and earth, made so thin. Knowing, with no hint of fear, that I am His and He is mine.
Loved with everlasting love,
drawn by grace that love to know…
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day (Jn. 6:44 ESV).
Spirit sent from Christ above,
thou dost witness it is so.

O this full and precious peace
from his presence all divine…
You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you (Is. 26:3 ESV).
in a love that cannot cease,
I am his and he is mine.
God’s grand design for full and precious peace with Him
But now, since you have been set free from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification—and the outcome is eternal life! (Rom. 6:22 CSB, emphasis added)
Who told this long ago?
Who declared it of old?
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no other god besides me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none besides me (Is. 45:21 ESV).
Mystery of redemption this:
All my sins on Christ were laid;
My offence was reckoned his;
He the great atonement made!
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21 ESV, emphasis added)!
Taste the goodness of the Lord:
welcomed home to his embrace,
all his love, as blood outpoured,
seals the pardon of his grace.

Can I doubt his love for me,
when I trace that love’s design?
By the cross of Calvary
I am his and he is mine.
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:3 ESV)!
In this suffering, remind me of Your glorious gospel truth!
Fully I am justified;
Free from sin, and more than free;
Guiltless, since for me he died;
Righteous, since he lived for me.

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace (Rom. 6:14 ESV).
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope set on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (1 Jn. 3:2-3 NASB).
His forever, only his–
who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss
Christ can fill the loving heart.
Heav’n and earth may fade and flee,
firstborn light in gloom decline,
but while God and I shall be,
I am his and he is mine!
A prayer for us, for this full and precious peace as we suffer
Abba Father, through the wonders of how You sovereignly use internet words to reach those You desire to see those words, please help my suffering sisters in Christ to deeply, experientially know Your glorious love story for them as Your beloved daughters. Your full and precious peace.
Please draw any sufferers to You, who don’t yet know Your love in Christ, in and through this time of hard suffering on earth. Could this be Your time of deep need, for someone to become one who is forever made Your own child, turning to Jesus as Lord and Savior? To intimately know Your embracing love, Your joy, Your goodness, Your bliss, Your abundant gift, the peace of being Yours…amid earthly suffering? To have eternal and totally sure hope of living with You in heaven? Turn our eyes upon Jesus, Lord of lords and King of kings, the Great Shepherd of the Sheep, amen.
Jesus, now to thee I bow;
Let thy praise my tongue employ.
Saved unto the utmost now,
Who can speak my heartfelt joy?
I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love, will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:16-19 ESV).
