She didn’t want to get out of bed. “I am so weary. I need something greater than myself because I am too weak to deal with life today. I’m so worried about how I’m going to be able to manage things. I honestly just don’t want to be here and cope today.”
Maybe we need to start quietly in weariness and worry
Have you ever seen a crescendo sign in music notation? It tells musicians to increase loudness or strength. It looks like a “greater than” sign in math! Thing is, musicians need to start quietly or it’s not musically effective. So, let’s quiet our hearts now as we seek a crescendo of praise.
Seek the Lord
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart (Jer. 29:13 ESV).
“Father, our hope is in You. How can we even face today? We wait for You. In Your deep love for us, You tell us to seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually (1 Chron. 16:11 AMPC)! We quietly seek Your presence now.
We also know that You, Lord, are the one who has sought us. You said, I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart (Jer. 24:7 ESV). Oh, what grace, what love You have given us, to bring us to Yourself and keep us in our own weakness, weariness and worry.”
God is the source of strengthened faith for endurance
God promises we can be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy (Col. 1:11 ESV).
“It’s Your strength and power that strengthens us! I can trust You today. You are the source of strength! By Your glorious might, You will provide strength in today’s weary, weak, waiting, and worry.”
I sing the mighty power of God
“You are certainly greater than all things! How great is our God! You are Almighty and powerful! Lord, it is You I praise into weariness and worry. Through Jesus Christ, my Savior, hallelujah and amen!”
I sing the mighty pow’r of God, that made the mountains rise;
That spread the flowing seas abroad and built the lofty skies.
I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day:
The moon shines full at His command, and all the stars obey.
I Sing the Mighty Power of God (Watts, I., 1715)
It is he who made the earth by his power (Jer. 10:12a ESV).
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way (Ps. 46:2a ESV).
When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens (Jer. 10:12 ESV).
Therefore we will not fear…though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea (Ps. 46:2b ESV).
He makes lightning for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses (Jer. 10:13b ESV).
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Ps. 46:1 ESV).
Creatures that borrow life from Thee are subject to Thy care:
There’s not a place where we can flee, but God is present there.
I Sing the Mighty Power of God (Watts, I., 1715)
Indwelling Strength
So, today we can live into the day because He provides all strength He knows we need to believe and trust in His powerful strength. Jesus is our Immanuel, God with us (Mt. 1:23; Is. 7:14). Because the Holy Spirit is always within a believer in Christ, our Helper is always with us.
May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality] (Eph. 3:16 AMPC).
Praise Explosion!
There’s not a plant or flow’r below, but makes Thy glories known;
And clouds arise and tempests blow, By order from Thy throne.
I Sing the Mighty Power of God (Watts, I., 1715)
A Crescendo of Praise into Weariness and Worry
Beloved sister in Christ, by the indwelling power of His Spirit, we can sing praise to Him for His power today. We can reset our trust in His strength as He gives us today’s strength. Through praise, we again believe who He is and rest into His lovingly provided day. As we attribute or ascribe to Him the awesome glory of His inherent and unchanging strength and power over all things, we have reached a crescendo of praise or praise explosion!
I pray He uses this crescendo of praise into our weariness and worry today, strengthening each of us with faith-endurance to run today’s race.
